Amazon.com Product Description The Coleman tent kit comes with everything you need to set up and break down your tent. The kit starts with four sturdy 10-inch steel tent stakes, which keep your tent from blowing away in the middle of the night. The solid rubber mallet, meanwhile, makes it easy to pound the stakes into the ground, so you don't have to search fruitlessly for a nearby rock. When it's time to pack up, you can turn to the easy-to-use tent stake puller, which keeps your fingers from cramping up. And no one wants to bring the campsite home, which is why the kit includes a handy whisk broom/dust pan combo for cleaning the tent floor. A must-have for frequent campers, the tent comes with a handy mesh storage bag. About Coleman The Coleman Company has been creating and innovating products for recreational outdoor use since W.C. Coleman started selling gasoline-powered lanterns in 1900. Inventor of the hugely popular fold-up camp stove, Coleman developed a plastic liner for his galvanized steel coolers in 1957--the birth of the modern cooler--and the company has been improving their utility and design ever since. The array of products that bear the Coleman name now includes just about everything you might need to work or play outdoors, from tents and sleeping bags to boats, backpacks, and furniture.

Handy but not needed January 4, 2010 proshopper This set is of good quality. These stakes are the only type we can use for more than a season. They do not bend or get lost in the sand. The top of the stake does come lose so you have to make sure it is pulled to the top before you put it in the ground. The rubber mallet is good quality and fairly heavy. The stake puller worked out really well especially in the sand. The broom and dust pan was really too small to do much good but was handy for spot cleaning. I still have to have my regular size broom to sweep out the tent before folding it. I was kind of disappointed with the quality of the broom and dust pan. They were just not as hearty as I have come to expect from Coleman. I would not say this set is a must have for camping, but it does come in handy.
If you get this your child will clean the tent...... September 30, 2009 Rudy Muller (Chicagoland area, IL USA) ......at least once, my son like the little brush and dustpan and kept cleaning the tet. And breaking down the puller really helps. Did I need it? Absolutly not, but it was a neat deal and it comes in a nice package that fits right in with the tent.
Handy camping kit August 29, 2009 Robert Wojnowski (Easton, MA) This was a nice addition to my camping supplies. The kit keeps everything handy and organized. Price was right if purchasing items separately.
Tent stakes arrived pre-rusted August 26, 2009 Marty Yawnick (DFW, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm sure that this is a handy kit to have. The tent stakes are much sturdier than the ones that came with my tent. For me, they also arrived pre-rusted -- a significant amount of rust covering most of the metal surfaces on all 4 stakes.
For what I paid for the item plus 2-day shipping, I'd prefer to rust my own stakes. These are going back.

Nice kit except for one problem August 25, 2009 Noname I bought this kit for my husband after our first camping trip and my husband 1) forgot to bring a mallet and broom and dustpan and 2) the stakes that came with our tent all bent the first time we tried to hammer them in.
It's nice to get it all in one little sack so we don't forget anything. I have since decided a large broom and battery operated hand vac suits my taste better than a little broom and dustpan, but those are still handy to have around.
The stakes in this kit are sturdier than the ones that came with our tent (i.e., they don't bend easily). The mallet works and we have no problem with it.
The stake puller works, but only if the stakes aren't stuck in the ground. The last time we used it, the stakes wouldn't come out and we were afraid plastic heads on the stakes would come off with the stake puller. It would be nice if either the stake heads weren't made of plastic or the stake puller would grip stake body so we could get a grip on the stake and pull.
Other than the problem with removing the stakes, I have no complaints.
