great pack for almost any occasions February 19, 2010 J. Kwak (Downey, CA USA) this is a great pack for almost any occasions. i bought this pack because i didnt want to drag my suitcase all over japan. instead i carried all my stuff for 11 days on my back with ease. the pack is overall very comfortable except it hurt my shoulders a bit probably because it was quite heavy after packing every inch of the pack. it hugs my body quite comfortably and i felt quite balanced with all that weight. the outside pockets were also useful to retract personal valuables and quick energy boosts. however, what i liked the most about this pack was how easy it was to get access to the main compartment. the zipper opening in the front lets you open the pack and grab anything from the bottom if you really needed to. also the pack is conveniently divided so you can manage your space. in addition, it rained in japan when i was there, and i used the rain cover to keep all my stuff dry, while my friends were dragging their suitcases in the rainwater. i dont think i would ever use a suitcase unless i have to carry a suit or something. i cant wait to use this pack to travel other countries. spain is my next destination.
Great Bag February 1, 2010 Ahmed Bassel (Cairo, Egypt) This is a very nice bag. It is fully adjustable to fit a smaller framed person to someone not so small. I am an average guy and it fits comfortable around my waist and shoulders with room to spare.
Only complaint is the sleeping bag pocket is small. My average size sleeping bag is a super tight fit. It is a fight to get it in, so I guess I will be buying a smaller sleeping bag!!!
For the larger waisted, 34" and greater. January 26, 2010 C. Gillett (Boise, ID USA) I bought this pack and had to return it due to the hipbelt being sized for 34" and over. I searched the high sierra web after I found it would not fit. They recommended 36" or more. It will work for those 34" and greater. The pack seemed a little top heavy for someone smaller like me. I am 5'9", 165 lbs with 32" waist.
The pack looks to be the made well with lots of storage. I would recommend to my larger sized friends. I gave it 4 stars because of the price, pockets, and rain cover.
I went into REI and tried on all the top end packs and found that the ospery aether 70 md was perfect. The ospery packs are much more refined. I got it for 170$. That is 70$ more than the high sierra long trail 90 price.
So those how are large and want a good deal this is a great buy.
Great Pack, Great Price January 7, 2010 Richard F. Hall (York, PA) We purchased for our son for Christmas who loves to hike back into the Rockies and he loves it. Super quality, great design, great price, and great service from Amazon.
AMAZING September 11, 2009 Andrew Mckinley This bag is everything it says it is and more. Holds all the stuff you could possible ask it too. Great for several days of being away. I would recommend this to ANYONE
