My kid loves the Kelty! January 25, 2010 CJ My son (now 11 months) adores the Kelty. He's been riding in it since he was 6 months old or so. He seems super comfortable and often falls asleep (I do try to wrap a blanket around his neck for a little more support when this happens). The pack's kick-stand is brilliant and it has plenty of storage space for extras (we throw in a small umbrella, sun hat, water, blanket, etc.). It's easy to adjust to switch back and forth between my husband and myself. We have been very pleased!
Wonderful!! November 23, 2009 Daniel (Vienna, IL) My little girl loves this pack. She really enjoys being outside. I have a lot of hiking trails near my home that would be impossible to use a stroller and she gets heavy carrying her in my arms. With the kelty pack there is plenty of room to store extra diapers, wipes, snacks and water. When I carry here on my back it is much more comfortable and we can go more places. The only drawback is that I can't see her very well behind me. The kelty pack is very sturdy, and comfortable. I am an XL guy and my wife is an XS woman, the kelty pack works very well for both of us. My wife does have to have help getting it on her back but once its there she has no problems.
Great carrier, but does not come with the sun/rain hood November 12, 2009 Amazon Junkie (California) I just received my FC 1.0 carrier today. I was very excited that it was comfortable for my small frame of 5'1" and my 3 yr old son fit well in it. However, I looked for the sun/rain hood which is shown in several pictures and also on the tag of the carrier, but didnt see it. So I looked on the Kelty site and found that the hood is sold separately for $35! I could have bought the FC 3.0 instead for $189 and I would have got the hood all inclusive in it! Its too bad that the specs do not make it clear that the hood is not included and the pictures are misleading.
We love it! November 9, 2009 Mabel's Mama (Boston, MA United States) Just received this as a gift and we love it. We had tried to use the Baby Bjorn (worn on the back) for our 7-12 month old and she hated it (in her defense, it looked very uncomfortable for her). We weren't big fans of it either - she's just too heavy (20 lbs.) and the straps are too unpadded. The Kelty 1.0 is incredibly comfortable, easy to use, and sturdy. We hiked for two hours this weekend and my husband said it was barely noticeable. It also has a surprisingly large storage pocket in the back.
I'm suprised at the positive reviews! October 9, 2009 gfvancouver I bought this carrier to carry around my 8 month old baby. It is so painful to wear. My back and shoulders ache no matter how I adjust it and I am not a weak person. I emailed Kelty for suggestions and they don't care to respond.
