Nice size for a long day of exercise June 6, 2010 L. Croker (San Jose, CA) This is a great large capacity bladder for those looooong days riding or hiking. I have two problems with it though:
- The spout is small (unlike the Camelbaks) so you can't add ice cubes to it to have cold water throughout the day. I freeze the whole thing filled about about a third full the night before, but it sucks when I forget to do that.
-The mouthpiece is finicky and sometimes doesn't seal completely, making it leak.
These things won't make me stop using it, but I'll probably look at a different brand when I have to replace it.
Well-built bladder March 16, 2010 D. Lucas (Portland, OR) As others have said, yes, the bite valve takes a bit of getting used to, but that's hardly a reason to take a star away. It is well built, the water has no plastic taste, it is well-built and is a good value.
I don't know how durable it is long term, but March 1, 2010 Rusty Shackleford 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It does what it says on the box, holds a lot of water, no plastic taste, and folds down to almost nothing when empty. I don't know if it fits in a standard hydration compatible pack (I don't have one), but I don't have any trouble tossing it in my pack with the tube sticking out through the zipper.
great purchase for any hiker February 17, 2010 Julian Norman (California, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this is a great piece of equipment for anyone to have!
pros:
-holds a lot (2.0L for me)
-easy to clean
-easy to use
-releases no flavor
cons:
-takes a little while to get used to bite-valve
this is awesome. i used it in my hike of the lost coast, and it saved me. it was really helpful to have along.
5*
Works well February 8, 2010 LSLBoater (LSL MO) Overall it works fine. I wish the opening was larger so you could put ice cubes into the bag.
One tip - if you keep it in the freezer the lines won't get discolored. When I'm done with it, I rinse it out really well, dry it for a couple hours, and then roll it up and put it in the freezer. That's where it stays until I'm ready to use it again.
