Made of super-tough Eastman Tritan polycarbonate, the OTG is the ultimate in mobile hydration, with a size that fits in most car cup holders, bike cages, and even exercise machines. In addition, the bottle offers an easy flip-top lid, so you can open the top with one hand for easy drinking on the go. Perhaps most importantly, the bottle's BPA-free construction is impact-, odor-, and stain-resistant, so you can enjoy your liquids without the dreaded plastic taste and smell. The OTG bottle--which boasts a sleek, slender profile--holds 24 ounces and weighs 0.26 pounds. About Nalgene Outdoor Based in Rochester, N.Y., Nalgene was founded in 1949 as a manufacturer of the first plastic pipette holder. The company soon expanded its product line to include state-of-the-art polyethylene labware under the Nalgene brand. By the 1970s, outdoor enthusiasts had discovered the taste and odor-resistant, leakproof, and rugged properties of Nalgene's large selection of plastic containers. In response to this emerging demand, Nalgene created a Consumer Products Division. In the ensuing years, Nalgene created a full line of bottles that were perfect for storing everything from water to powdered drinks to pancake mix to shampoo.

No smells, easy to use July 28, 2010 Philly Rob (Philadelphia) It's a water bottle. It doesn't leak, doesn't have BPA, and doesn't impart a smell or taste to water. (Note that Nalgene never intended for this bottle to be thrown in the bottom of a bag, if you're looking for a bottle that won't leak in those conditions, look elsewhere.)
It fits easily into a car cup holder. The loop on the lid is very handy for carrying the bottle around when your hands are full.
The lid is #2 plastic and does not smell. I'm not sure why no one seems to mention what the lid is made of when there's so much focus on the rest of the bottle, but either way, the whole product is BPA free.
The drink spout on the lid is just a hole, so it won't restrict water flow. It will stop splashing and larger chunks of ice from coming through.
I found that, at first, the flip lid was very difficult to open with one hand, but it loosened up with use.
I've often wondered if different chemicals are used in making these bottles various colors. So in the interest of being thorough, I got the blue one.
Cool Lid, MADE IN USA, July 27, 2010 jut87 (Cape Canaveral, FL) This is a great water bottle. The lid is very cool. It screws onto the bottle like a regular Nalgene bottle, but then the top portion will hinge back exposing a tube about 3/4" in diameter. This is easier to use then a traditional Nalgene bottle, since the lid isn't flopping around while you are drinking.
Other than that, the bottle is great like any other Nalgene. Very durable bottle portion and MADE IN THE USA.
Decent water bottle July 21, 2010 J. Binder (PA) I use this primarily for the gym. The flip top is nice; your hands never touch the part you drink from, which means less chance of germs entering your mouth. It is also covered from other particles. The opening is plenty large for big ice cubes. The large hole at top makes it convenient to carry while walking.
The flip top hinge is flimsy and made of not-very-resilient plastic. It's a bit too brittle, and it broke on me. I glued it, but it doesn't seal the same now. This is the only downside I've encountered.
I don't give out much love.. but i love this bottle July 19, 2010 zyphlus (concord, ca USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't give out much love.. but i love this bottle
This bottle is pure and clean great design... it has very little if no outgassing.. Unlike an AL Gore movie or a UN climate report it actually is truthful in its description. Nice one handed operation...
Leaks, broken within a month. July 17, 2010 Barry I love the small mouth of the bottle, but the top began to leak after just a few weeks of normal use. If it's ever upside down, it drips all over the place. Also, a part of the plastic hinge on the top broke off. Not the quality I would have expected from a Nalgene Bottle.
