1 out of 5 stars Don't Buy This   June 22, 2010
Tiara Kostanshek
Honestly i bought this item and it is one of the worst camera bags i have ever bought! The inserts that they give you don't fit in that well and you can't put them in the spots you want. The way it is described, is completely misunderstood. The two long inserts they give you are not the same size and the ends point out like crap. No matter what you read in the other reviews, don't buy this, it is horrible, you will have better luck spending your money on something else.

5 out of 5 stars MORE than just a beginner's bag...   May 12, 2010

This bag (Lowepro 200AW - not really the one listed on this page - it doesn't appear to be a Lowepro product...just an imitation) was my second bag to purchase since owning a dslr (I've now had the bag for over 1 year). The first was also a Lowepro bag but it was pretty small and would basically hold a body and one lens (which I quickly out grew).

I like the over-the-should design of the bag vs. a backpack design - both for comfort and access. Access is probably the best reason to own this bag.

I do have a larger backpack style case too. Yes, it holds more than this bag but when it's full, my stars, who wants to lug it around?? Nice for protecting my gear and keeping most all of it in one place but really too heavy for my to want to carry around for any length of time.

With the 200AW I can fit what I really need to carry around and still be able to "carry" it around without killing myself.

Here is what I keep in my bag:

MAIN compartment with dividers: Nikon D300s body, Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 lens, Nikon 12-24mm f/4 lens, Nikon 35mm f/1.8 lens, Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR lens, 4 rechargeable batteries, and a spare lens rear cap. NOTE: either the Nikon 12-24mm or the Tamron 17-50mm lens will be attached to the body.

TOP compartment: Nikon SB-800 flash in its case, Pocketwizard MultiMAX, and a small Giottos RocketBlower.

OUTSIDE flap compartment: 2 Nikon EN-EL3e batteries, 4 memory cards, a pocket-size white balance card, and a Lumiquest Bounce attachment.

That takes care of the majority of my general shooting needs.

The "raincoat" is a definite plus to have just in case...

The bag is well made and I have no concerns about a failure of any of the straps or securing devices.

5 out of 5 stars Just as good as the Lowepro Slingshot 200 AW   May 10, 2010
Jason Purdie (Seattle, WA)
This bag is great. Compared to the Lowepro Slingshot, the quality is very similar (both are great) but this bag costs much less. The only difference is it does not have the built-in lens cleaning cloth that the Lowepro does. I actually returned my copy of the Lowepro bag and kept this one because that darn cloth would always get zipped up in the zipper.

I have owned this Onepolar camera bag for almost 6 months now and have done some serious hiking, traveling, and urban trekking with it. The built-in rain cover has come in handy many times and is very easy to put on/take off. The zippers are all nice quality and the bag is very versatile and easy to use and gain access to your camera. The bag is very comfortable and feels secure with the support straps.

The size of this bag is perfect for my Pentax K-x with attached 18-55mm lens, DA 55-300mm lens, 2 small prime lenses, and a 2x teleconverter in the main compartment. In the internal flap pocket, I can fit 3-4 SD cards and a couple infrared remotes). There is also a zipper pocket inside the main compartment where I put a microfiber cloth. I use the top compartment for a flash or 2 (depending on how big they are) and flash triggers/cords. The outside zipper pocket has dividers for 2 lenspens or regular pens, and I also fit a pack of 4 58mm lens filters, 1 rocket lens blower, and a spare set of 4 AA batteries in this pocket. I carry all of this equipment on a regular basis and have never felt uncomfortable with the weight. The camera and lenses inside seem like they get good protection (as long as you don't drop the bag. They don't move around much inside.

I would recommend this bag (even moreseo than the Lowepro version). It is definitely not of lesser quality and the design is essentially identical and this one will save you almost 50%. Great product!

5 out of 5 stars Godd product with good price   May 7, 2010

I bought Lowerpro 200aw and returned it because this one is around half price. Basically 200AW bag is a perfect camera bag in terms of size, weight, style, mobility, toughness, low profile, and easy to use. I have Canon t2i with 18-55 lens and a 75-300 zoom, plus some small accessories. All of them fit perfectly in the bag. I can carry it around without using my hand at all. Whether you walk, run, jump, knee down, bend over, or any position, it stick with your back perfectly. When I want to open it, just slide to the front and I can i can still use my two hands to change lens (also while i am standing). The style is not bad at all.

One different between this one and and Lowerpro is the Lowerpro one has soft cloth to protect the camera screen inside the bag, this one does not. I used my eye-glasses cloth and stitch with it. It works pretty much the same.

Pros, no way to cary tripod with this bag. -- also try to find the vendor with free shipping in case you need to return.

5 out of 5 stars Why pay for a Lowepro?   March 20, 2010

I am thrilled with this bag. I had been looking at buying the Lowepro version, but found this. I am a brand freak, but I couldn't pass up this deal. Based on other reviews, I decided to buy it. I made a great choice. I have only had it for a few days, so I cannot attest to longevity, but the build is fabulous. I actually took it to a camera store where I was having a class and compared it to the Lowepro version and only saw minor cosmetic differences. The gal working at the store actually was looking at my bag trying to figure out when they changed the zipper pulls on the Lowepro given that they are the only noticeable difference. So if you have been looking at the Lowepro 200AW, or even the 100AW, stop looking and order this one instead.

If you are interested, in the main compartment I have a Nikon D40 with 35mm lens attached, 18-55mm, 55-200mm, SB-400 flash, battery charger and cables. Top pocket has a couple filters in their cases and some paperwork with lots of room to spare. The only thing I have in the front pocket is a Lenspen and a couple pens. There is plenty of space in this bag.

One other thing, the company has very fast shipping. I ordered on Sunday, it shipped out Monday afternoon, had it on Wednesday. They ship from New York and I am in Oregon. Out the door and across the country in 3 days is incredibly impressive to me.

Edit on 4/9/10 - Thought I would update this. I am so happy I bought this bag. I just got back from a trip to Pittsburgh and this bag was with me the whole time. It fit beautifully under the seat on the plane. Was very easy to take off. I carried it almost everywhere and even though I had all my equipment with me the weight was barely noticeable. The strap and back of the pack are very well padded. I love the easy access to my camera. I had several times I may have missed a shot, but I just swung the pack around, unzipped the camera, and shot away. Very cool!! My only complaint is there is really nowhere to stick a tripod, but that is only a minor issue to me. I still highly recommend this to everyone.
