Amazon.com Product Description Keep your tent cool, comfortable, and well lit on warm summer or fall evenings with the Coleman Cool Zephyr ceiling fan, which includes a built-in light. The Cool Zephyr features an adjustable two-speed airflow control, so you can set the fan to high if you're desperate for circulation or low if you just need a steady breeze. The separately controlled light, meanwhile, includes four white LEDs and one amber LED. The white LEDs give you a nice reading or game-playing light, while the amber LED makes a terrific night light. Best of all, the Cool Zephyr attaches to any tent with its powerful magnetic plates. The Cool Zephyr runs on four D-cell batteries (sold separately). About Coleman More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a "no light, no pay" clause--a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked--and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark. In the ensuing years, Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company's current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. There are coolers that keep food and drinks cold for days on end, comfortable airbeds that won't deflate during the night, a complete line of LED lights that last for years, powerful portable grills that cook with an authentic open-grill flame, and much, much more. Coleman has truly fashioned much of our outdoor camping experience, and expects to do so for generations to come.

Two fans died within days of purchase. July 25, 2010 DarrenC I bought two fans. One for me and one for my son. Fan gave me a good breeze. After continuous use (while sleeping) for two nights, the fan died. Light worked. I changed batteries anyway, fan was still dead. Seems the fan motor may have died. A couple of days later, my son's did the same.
I thought maybe it was just a bad run from the manufacturer, but another camper we were with had the same fan and same problem. I'm going to look for something better.
Seriously junk July 22, 2010 Joel M. Brooks (KCMO) I cannot see how anybody would rate this as a decent product. It's so cheaply made it's a joke. I had to modify it right out of the box to keep it from wobbling. The fan blades were out of balance and the motor (drive) shaft was loose by design. It moves next to ZERO air and it's mediocre loud. The fan blades are made of a foam rubber if that tells you anything. Ever picked up a kids toy made in China, and it felt like it would shatter into a million pieces if the kid drops it? That's this fan.
Don't waste your money.
SO Noisy July 14, 2010 Val727 We got this fan for a camping trip. Decided to try it out before we left, and it was incredibly noisy. It was quieter when it was on it's side, but this sort of defeats the purpose of a ceiling fan. I can't imagine how you would sleep if it was on...
LOVE this product! July 12, 2010 Happy Shopper 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My husband and I bought this unit at our local one stop shop about three years ago. We just used it again this last weekend and it still works like a champ on the original set of battaries. It's very sturdy and has survived almost 30 camp trips with toddlers in tow. The Fan is strong enough to decrease, but not completely eliminate the condensation in our 5 man tent. If you're looking for something to cool the air in a humid situation or a large area, you'd probably need to buy more than one of these or get a different unit. The cooling effect of the fan would be great in a one or two person tent, but it's not quite strong enough for anything larger then that. The light is what we fell in love with. The high setting is bright enough to read by at night and is perfect for getting the kids ready for bed and settled. Then we switch the light over to the night mode. This provides enough light to see the kids and move around without having to wake the entire tent with a bright flashlight. It was a life saver when dealing with toddlers that were afraid of the dark! The only downfall to this unit is that the switches are difficult to see when the fan is in place. So, you have to use the bump and feel method to get the unit turned on and working the way you want. Also, the switches are easily turned on in transit. More then once we've opened the storage container and the fan or light has been on. Now we just take out the battaries to eliminate that situation. Overall, I would highly recommend this product to others. It's durable, energy efficient, and definately does the job.
Waste of Money July 11, 2010 David H. Thum (Avon Lake, OH) My wife bought my son and I each one of these for Boy Scout summer camp and the first day we both had them hung up in our tent they fell and broke - the glue on his let go of the magnet and it hit the wooden platform below. I don't know what happened to mine - it was not a windy day and it was a nylon tent so it wasn't thick material. I wouldn't waste money on these.
